This 1971 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was purchased new by its owner from Inland Imports of San Bernardino, California. The car underwent a refurbishment in 2016, when it was refinished in Cranberry over tan leather.
Powertrain
The 4.2-liter inline-six has been modified with triple SU carburetors and aftermarket intake and exhaust manifolds. Power goes through a four-speed manual transmission to a limited-slip differential. Service in June 2025 included new points, spark plugs, and condenser, plus lubrication of the grease fittings.
Exterior
The car left the factory in Light Blue and was repainted Cranberry in 2016. At that time, the tan convertible top was replaced and the chrome nose surround was omitted. Exterior features include the signature louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a driver-side mirror, and dual exhaust outlets.
Chassis
The car rides on chrome 15″ wire wheels with 205/75 Pirelli P300 whiteline tires. Braking is by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors. The rubber suspension parts and bushings were replaced in 2016.
Interior
The refreshed cabin has tan leather bucket seats with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Features include a locking glovebox, a heater, a wooden shift knob, and a Sony stereo. The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instruments: a 160-mph speedometer, a 6,000-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level.
